Kilgetty AFC Indoor junior football tournament.

Kilgetty junior football fundraising group organised a football tournament for the benefit of the junior section of the club, last Sunday at Tenby Leisure Centre.

This tournament built on the success of a similar event, held last year, and such was the success of this latest tournament that it is intended that this will now be an annual event for future years.

Players drawn from the Under 8’s, 9’s 10’s and 12’s played a series of games over a three hour period in the sports hall, followed by a party for the children and a  prize giving ceremony, held in the dance studio immediately afterwards.

Fundraising chair Gerry Rigby praised the extremely hard work of the committee, comprising, Lynsey Karaka, Nicky Cook, Steve Collier, Gareth and Clair Kettle, Anthony Coleman, Sharron Hardwick, Andrea Schulz, Joe Meuhlbauer, Will Grey, and Andy Broomhill.

He went on to invite additional participants to the group, from the parents attending the event.

Club Chairman Lukas Gamble reiterated the offer of this invitation before speaking of the unique position of Kilgetty AFC being granted Platinum status within the FAW club accreditation scheme. A remarkable and rare achievement for a junior club in Wales.
