Repent is the message that Jesus spoke. Clean up your life and sin no more.

Strange how people will use the new year for their resolutions or even lent to see a sin in their lives that needs to be dealt with.

I once went in a house and the floor felt like a sponge. The carpet was very thick, infact it was several carpets laid on top of each other to a depth of 5 cm. The doors had been cut off on the bottom so they would still open over the mass of carpets.

As each carpet got stained, dirty or worn, a new one was laid on top covering over the mess underneath.

There are people who live like that, cover over sin with good intentions, hide their sin with new promises.

Try to clean their lives by charitable acts or even fast at lent which is not a command and earns you no points with God.

Repent is the word Jesus said meaning to have sincere regret or remorse about doing wrong.

You cannot save yourself neither can you cover over your sin. It has to be confronted, sorted out and cleaned out.

The Jews followed the law with animal sacrifice to atone for sin.

For without the shedding of blood , there is no remission of sin.

Sin is a debt that must be paid, you can try to cover it with traditions or religion or perhaps another promise that will get broken. Or maybe go another way?

Jesus was the last blood sacrifice, His death paid in full for our sins.

There are no man made rules to try and keep, just trust and believe that Jesus' Blood has cleansed us completely from all of our sin.

Repent, turn away from sin , "BE HOLY AS I AM HOLY" God says.

To those who believe, IT IS FINISHED, but to those who don't believe, how are you going to surpass the sacrifice of Jesus?

You cannot gloss it over , come to Jesus today , he is waiting and well able to help, Jesus loves you.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Amen.

Sometimes we just don't see an answer to lifes problems.

When you receive bad news, where do you head?

In to a dark valley or up to the sunny mountain top.

We don't always see an answer and we walk through more than one valley in this life.

Jesus has overcome life, death, sickness and all spiritual darkness, in him is light and life.

In that valley, Jesus is with you, leading you back to still waters.

When we ask of God, he replys in one of three ways, "Yes, No and Wait."

In every reply we must learn to be still and keep trusting God for the restoration of our soul.

You can dwell on a problem or you can trust God with it, you can let it get on top of you and consume your thoughts or you can cast it upon God.

"I WILL FEAR NO EVIL

FOR YOU ARE WITH ME."

Words from Psalm 23, we all know them but do we live them?

A very British way of dealing with problems is a stiff upper lip and show no emotion.

But that's wrong, even Jesus wept.

We can try to take on lifes problems alone and get bitter in the process or we can walk with God. Knowing he is always there is a great comfort, knowing he will never leave you can give you strength to face the day.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.

If you find yourself in a dark valley today , then by prayer and petitions, present your requests to God and in all things GIVE THANKS!

Learn to trust God more than your thoughts because our battle is not against flesh and blood.

Put on your armour, remember your authority in Jesus.

Raise a standard, claim the ground and then with full faith, stand firm.

Problems come and go but God remains the same so

Trust in him alone.

"O SEND OUT THY LIGHT AND THY TRUTH AND LET THEM LEAD ME."

Don't walk down the wrong path, let God lead you on paths of righteousness. It takes absolute trust but God determines our steps.

Then you can say with no doubt " THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD, I SHALL NOT WANT."

Be blessed today and put your trust in God.

Amen.
