Prayer, what is it, do you do it and does it do anything?
God said: "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face......"

IF.... We don't always pray, but when we do things happen, but it's not always the same.
Jesus taught His disciples to pray, the Lord's Prayer.
God answers prayers.

Hannah wanted a baby. She pleaded with God, so distressed she couldn't get the words out, it was more like a sigh in her heart. God answered and sent her a son, Samuel.
Prayers don't have to be wordy or eloquent, God hears our sighs and cries.
In the garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked His followers to pray, but they were tired and weak. Sometimes we might feel like that.

What if we pray but lack faith?

Peter was arrested, the people prayed, when Peter turned up they doubted it was him! Are we ever shocked if God answers?!

Prayer is a mystery. God looks at our hearts and knows how to treat each one of us best.

Elisha had great faith he heard God's secrets, gaining inside information. The army wanted him dead, he trusted God he knew He was greater than them. He prayed a simple prayer, God opened the servants eyes revealing realms of angels. They defeated the army.

A lady who helped Elisha was childless, he promised she'd have a child and she did. Yet the son dies, so the lady sent for Elisha. He acted several times, nothing happened. After lots of prayer actions the boy was revived.

Some situations take persistent prayer, sometimes it just takes a sigh , sometimes we are shocked when things happen, but no matter what we need to pray.
God hears our prayers, He doesn't always answer immediately. We might need someone else to pray for us, or we might need to pray for someone.
God can place an open a door before you that no one else can shut.
Don't let it be an IF, just talk too the Heavenly Father.
God is a prayer answering God.

I might pray then start to stress again. Worry brings nothing but strife, we need to hand things over to God and leave them in His loving hands.
Prayer changes anything and everything as it allows God's influence to come into our lives.

So, whether it's simple words, a poetic piece, a cry for help, a desperate shout or a painful groan get talking to God, He's waiting to hear from you today!

We need to enter by the door.
Jesus is The Door, The Way, The Truth, The Life.
A preacher shared a story of how a priest was invited to give a man "the last rights", he issued them then walked away. In came another priest, in white robes, he entered through the wall. He said, "Get up, get washed and dressed, go out and get a Bible". The nurses protested but he went out. People questioned why He entered through the wall and not the door, it was Jesus and the said: "I am the door"!

There is an enemy prowling around us, he is a thief out to rob and destroy; he will speak lies, steal your peace and torture you. But there is one who has come to save us all so that we might have life and have it more abundantly!
There's power in a plug socket but it's nothing compared to the power of God.
Some people have religion, but it's not alive it's just empty rituals. Jesus said I have come that you might have life in all its fullness.

Children start life in the pram but they soon get lively, climbing everywhere! Sometimes the child falls and a parent’s kiss heals the tears. We need that kiss from the Father God to heal us.

Whatever you need, God is.

There is a more excellent way, the love of God. God has buckets of love for us.
The Lord is our Shepherd (Psalm 23) we will not want for anything. We can live on the Word of our Father God, his promises and provisions. He can give us peace and restore us.

As we walk through hard and dark times God will comfort and protect us, we need not fear.

Our Heavenly Father lavishes us with blessings like an oil anointing us.
Our cup of love from God overflows and His goodness and mercy follow us all of our days, we have the promise that, because of Jesus, we can remain in God's house forever.

Jesus is The Door, The Way to become God's child, The Gate to salvation, the Prince Of Peace. Don't listen to the enemy's lies anymore! Put your trust in The Lord God, He will hold your right hand and will help you today

People have different names for God, Creator, Abba, Father, Daddy, Lord.

Is the name Jesus Christ just a swear word to you or do you know Him?

The Bible says "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God" I had no idea it was wrong! I didn't know because no-one told me about Jesus. How can someone be saved by Jesus if they don't know how? I was loved but didn't know about the love of God.

If we know someone who does not know God, we need to tell them!

Jesus said no one comes to the Father except through me, by Jesus' name we can reach God the father, we are accepted because of Jesus.

Is our "religion" just a title to tick on a form?

Denominational tags don't save us, religion will not save us. Being religious is not enough. There is a path....The path. Jesus is the path to God.

When Moses Spoke to God He named himself the I Am.

When Jesus spoke to the religious leaders He said "before Abraham existed I Am" He used God's name to refer to Himself because that's who He is.

If we remain quiet heaven looses out, if we share our faith in Jesus then people know The Way that Jesus has made and they can follow it too. People need to hear The Gospel to be saved.
What is the Gospel? In brief: God loves all people, including you and me, he loves us so much that he gave His only Son, Jesus, so that if we believe and receive His love and forgiveness we shall be accepted into God's family and have eternal life. (If you want to know more about this give us a call.)

If you can't talk to people about this, give them a tract. Put some scripture on your wall, let them read The Truth. This gives opportunities.

Get busy, get gobby with the Gospel, get out there and share the Light of Life today!

Hope without faith is dead.
Hope with faith is different.
Hope means you know God can do anything, faith means you know God will.
So, do we live in hope, or hope and faith?

We are not saved by believing alone, even the devil believes! We need to place our faith in Jesus that He will save us. If you are a child of God you are a son of the King. If anyone puts their trust in Christ they are a new creation, we then become His ambassadors.

If you or the Church are lacking, pray. Prayer brings Light into the situation, like prayer is the blank check that God fills in for us.

Jesus lived and died as a man but accessed the riches of heaven. Jesus said the Kingdom of God is here, it's like pulling heaven in to situations.

What Jesus did was within the reach of mankind, He didn't come as God but as a man with access to God.

It's all about faith. Faith enriches lives. Say God will, not He can but I don't know if He will.

There might be a millionaire who has power to move money and control things and a regular person, if that regular person is an ambassador for Jesus then they have the power and status from God.

There is no austerity in heaven, it's as rich there as it was in the beginning!
Think big, ask big....heaven is full of blessings and resources.
Faith releases God's power.

Live up to the role you have, be the ambassador. In the world the ground of ambassadors belong to the country they represent. As for us we can claim the ground where we are. Pray the darkness out, claim your ground it for the Kingdom Of Light, get God's protection.

To see breakthroughs you must have faith. To start at home and move out, take authority over things, you can loose on earth what there is in heaven, love and peace. You can bind things that are not in heaven, like evil, sickness, darkness and opression, pray against these, you have authority from God over them. Speak to the mountain (problem) and tell it to move. We can pray in the Kingdom.
Walk with God, don't rely on other things. God has a role for us, we need the Holy Spirit to give us the ability to do things in Jesus name. Access God's power with faith today!

Rahab started in a bad place but ended up in a good place. God chose Rahab. When Joshua sent out spies they were rescued by Rahab, a prostitute. When the King's men came looking she sent them in the wrong direction.

Before this Joshua was with significant leaders who spied the land. 10 gave bad reports fuelled with doubt and fear, discouraged they forgot God's promises. But Joshua and Caleb had faith and believed God's promises. Doubt meant the people wandered for 40 years. It's easy to be drawn to fear and false beliefs, instead focus on God's promises.

Joshua sent 2 people he trusted, believing God's Word and promises. Rahab put her trust in God too.

Lessons for us: Rahab was a prostitute. God can take us as we are and use us. God saw a woman of fearless faith who was transformed.

Our failures can be used as God's messages, he can turn scars into stars.
The Ark of the Covenant contained manna (fed to the people wile they were moaning!), commandment tablets (which Moses smashed in anger) and Aron's staff (representing a sign to the rebellious).... Blood was applied daily to the Ark. When it was stolen and opened thousands died. It's like God saying don't rake up the past....repent, put the blood on it and move forward.

Things you dwell on in the past hold you back. Give past, and future, over to God, He knows best.

Rahab told a lie to preserve their lives. She was instructed to use scarlet cloth as an escape route after 3 days. In Israel there's a worm, crimson worm. It attaches to trees so much if you pull them off they die! The worm gives birth, the babies eat it's body...the worm becomes red...often used as dye. The worm then turns white and dies, just like how God turns our scarlet sins white, like wool. It's a picture of what Jesus has done for us on the tree....his blood ran for us...3 days later he rose. He can set us free.

All Rahab asked for was her family be saved. The condition was that the scarlet thread was attached, their lives depended upon it. Just like how our lives depend on Jesus, saved by the scarlet thread running through us.

Rahab is remembered for her trust in God.

Are we going to put our trust in God's promises to save us and stay attached to Jesus? Only Jesus can turn a mess into a message and give you a good future. Put your trust in Him today.

God knows your heart. Not just the flesh and blood but its inner desires.
If you do good or bad it starts at the heart. A fear, wrong thoughts, a lie, or worse.
The Bible says even if you think it, it's like you do it.
Some want to cut themselves off from belief in a creator, others believe they can save themselves, live "holy" lives or follow various religious rules to get to the creator.

There's an easy way into God's family, so easy you might not easily take it in!
God said to Ezekiel: I will give you a new heart....one of flesh, not stone. When and how can this happen? When you turn to Jesus. God can change any heart.

Evil desires of the heart are at the core of all wrongs. King David first did wrong in his heart, then he acted and it spiralled from bad to worse: adultery, lies, murder! David was confronted, he confessed, acknowledged he did wrong and was sorry.
Yet God called David "a man after Gods own heart". David faltered but he came back. His heart was made right by God.

Religious people in Jesus' day looked something special, but God's not impressed with that. God accepts us in rags and is concerned with what's on the inside, in our heart.

Meeting religious leaders Jesus said the tax collectors and prostitutes would enter the kingdom of God before them! Why? The religious believed they were saved by talking scripture, but the "sinners" knew Jesus and had had a change of heart.
Toddlers instinctively fight over toys, taking possession stubbornly, like it's in built!
We can change.

No one is good enough on their own, we're not naturally pure in heart, but all can receive forgiveness, All people need a new heart instead of the hard human heart.
How? Accept Jesus, he transforms hearts.

What's in your heart? Unforgiveness, malice? Sort it out! We all need a spiritual heart transplant.

When Isiah saw God he said "Woe to me"....if Isaiah had problems what about us!?
Jesus can take away all wrongs and wash us clean. Only through Jesus can we be free, and if we accept this we will stand in front of God, approach Him boldly and say wow not woe!

Jesus says "I stand at the door and knock."
Will you answer or will you leave him standing there?
If you let Jesus in he'll bring a new heart and a new Spirit for you today.

The Ultimate Hero
X-Men, Superman, The Fantastic Four, brilliant!
But at the end of the day, it's just fantasy.
I want a real hero.
Someone to look up to,
Depend on.
This is how I met mine......
How do you find the perfect man?
Sensitive and kind,
Yet strong and courageous.
Let's face it no-one will ever match up!
But wait,
I tell you there is hope.
Yes, I have found the perfect man!
One man.
Perfection personified.
I could have easily missed him.
Likethebest kept secret ever,
He was always there.
I never noticed.
A lost lonely child,
I was oblivious.
Vulnerable, sad, alone.
I saw him in a song.
Felt him in their tones.
It wasn't the words,
It was his fragrance,
So precious, pure.
In hollow, dark nights, I spoke to him.
Breathed in the fragrance;
Hope flowed into my lungs.
Life giving hope.
I just knew it.
No-one had to explain.
When the world was created, it was him.
He mapped out the stars,
Designed the sunsets.
He was different then though,
He wasn't human.
Just as we always suspected ladies,
The perfect man is alien to the human race!
Incomprehensible.
No beginning,
No end.
How can words ever explain?
The "Supreme Being",
The "Ultimate Hero"
We name him God.
We call him Lord,
Creator, master, shepherd.
Dare we even call him Father – Daddy?
I do.
He came to me,
I was only ten.
This is my memory,
My Hero,
My Jesus.

Fear makes rational people do irrational things.
If someone feels fear they can act out of character.
Elijah challenged people worshiping idols and his God proved His power, the people cried out "The Lord he is God!"
Baal worshiper Queen Jezebel heard of this and was angry. She threatened to kill Elijah.
Elijah went from triumph to fear and ran away for 40 days and nights then hid in a cave. God asked "why are you here?" and called him out.
Are you running in fear or hiding away? Is God saying to you: "What are you doing here?"
Fear
Fears are irrational.peopleWherever there's fear
You run from fear but it follows you.
achieving goals. It takes over. Wherever there is fear there is
failure.
Fear has a friend called doubt.
The Word of God is Truth, trust that and let fear go.
Elijah acted in great faith, the people then shouted "the Lord is God!" One threat from one woman made him run in fear and hide. He wasn't listening or trusting.
When fear comes in the enemy wins.
Fear fills our heads with nonsense, makes us loose sleep with worry. Worry changes nothing.
Learn to give God your problems, hand things over and trust God.
The news fills us with fears and worries. What are we scared of?
You can't overcome fear by running away or turning to substances.
You must face your fear.
A visit from God convinced Elijah to come out of the cave....does God ever call you out saying "what are you doing here?"
According to God's word we have been chosen. The only fear we should have is a reverend fear: an adoration, honour, thankfulness, love and respect of God.
Our future is set with God. One thing to remember: GOD'S IN CHARGE! Don't be fearful of world events. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and he delivers them.
What do your fears cause you to do or not to do? Why do we fear?
Does fear disable you or can you trust in God and be free from them?
Elijah walked out of the hiding place as God called him. He and we make mistakes when we fear. We have a great God who understands, He can set us free from worry and fear.
The closer you walk with God the less your fear will come.
Worry won't add to life. Make it your ambition not to fear, remember: God is in control!
Read Psalm 23: though we walk through the darkness we will fear no evil for God is with us. Focus on God's love today!

In the Gospel of Luke we read about a woman crippled by a spirit for 18 years. Jesus saw her, called her forward and he put his hands on her and immediately she was set free.
When we fall ill we say we have the illness, but is it sometimes true that the illness has us?
Sickness has power over us, it takes away our peace, focus, strength and joy but Jesus has the power over sickness.
When Adam and Eve rejected God's way did they realise how bad things would be with sickness and death?
Sickness comes from the enemy, Jesus has the power over the enemy. Do we trust God as much as or more than a doctor?
It's great that we can all have access to medical treatment but there is no promise that we can be healed.
Sick people once looked to the church for answers.
In the Old Testament David wrote "I called out to God for help, and he heard me."
Claim God's promises, hold on to them. We can speak health and healing. The power of life and death is in our tongues.
When people called out to Jesus they didn't expect to get tablets, cream and ointments but healing.
In faith we can reach out, speak over illnesses and treat them like they are from the enemy. Speak with authority over the ailment. Fix your focus on Jesus. A doctor can help, Jesus can heal.
Every promise of God contains the power to release us from the things that bind us when we stand on God's promises.
We call to God for help.
Jesus took our infirmities and healed our sickness.
If sickness has you, try to turn it around and take authority over it in Jesus name.
Speak positive truths over yourself and those you love today.

Jesus came to give us a full life.
Where are we going wrong?
There is an enemy, a deceiver.
How can we understand God's Word if we're not Greek or Hebrew scholars?!
Ordinary people can understand the Word guided by the Holy Spirit.
Jesus spoke scripture to defeat the enemy.
We need a deeper understanding of Scripture from a simple understanding, not as scholars but followers. Read God's Word and stand on it. Not mindlessly memorising, but believing and trusting like a child.
God has a message for us all.
Do we believe God's Word or distorted beliefs spoken by people?
We come to God through Jesus, in faith.
Jesus shed blood for our sin, by his stripes we are healed, not just in heaven but here.
We may be under a misapprehension, attributing works of the devil to God.
We hear of Paul's "thorn in the flesh" and Job, what do we make of this? God wasn't challenging Job but the enemy to show Job's faithfulness. Job eventually gets twice the blessing, was healed and set free.
God can use every situation for good.
We can have more, don't settle for less.
Sickness and death happen but we're in transition from this world to the next.
Do we really believe Jesus is The Way, Truth and Life, the absolute representation of God?
How do we fit our situations into God's story, why is it nothing changing? Don't let your physical condition determine your spiritual reality.
Faith is important to be saved, but it doesn't finish there. Jesus came to set us free from sickness and death. There will be trouble and persecution, but God strengthens us.
God is more amazing than we know. Only stepping in to that life Jesus offers will get us there.
Some people need deliverance from the enemy's work.
It's NOT true that God puts you in a situation of sickness to push you to God.
Nothing is impossible for God.
I prayed but God didn't heal....keep praying! It's not physical conditions we fight, nor God's will, but the enemy!
We're here to demonstrate God's power; we have to do mundane things to live, but mustn't neglect God's plans.
The enemy of our soul wants to control, destroy, distort, just like in Eden...."Did God really say?" They bought into the lie, and so do we.
God wants to restore, heal and set us free. Jesus healed all he saw.
The disciples couldn't heal one boy, Jesus healed him...unbelief was the barrier.
Even if we believe we can still have unbelief. Fasting and prayer get us closer to God gaining greater understanding.
Read the Word in context led by the Holy Spirit, believe in Jesus and see what you are in him today.

Do you have a dream that is unfulfilled, a promise that hasn’t happened yet?
Do not give up!
If God promises something, it will happen - but it’s not always instant.
God promised Abram and Sarai would have children. The delay in this happening was a struggle and they went their own way. Yet, contrary to his doubts, Abram held on to hope, with faith in Gods promise.
Over 20 years later God renews the promise. There was still no child but God changed their names to mean father and mother of nations adding a H to their names.
It is often that the promise comes long before circumstances change.
Later Abraham is visited by three men. He rushed to serve them, prepared meals and welcomed them. One of the three said Sarah would have a son. Sarah laughed, but God said "is anything too hard for the Lord?"
Soon after they had a Son, like God promised.
The situations you face are awaiting opportunities, keep seeking an answer....trust God to keep the promises.
Elisha the prophet visited a notable Shunammite woman. She lavished hospitality on him. He asked what she wanted in life, She wanted a son. He then called her in and God promised her a son. It was too painful for her to believe. She was not bitter, but she served the man of God with a big heart. She went beyond. A year later she had that promised son.
What is it in 2019 that you desire?
Have you, like Sarah, had a promise from God but got fed up of waiting and have given up, gone your own way? Is it too painful to even think of?
Impossible situations don’t stop God, God uses them to show His Glory.
To see God do something incredible make sure He's the center of your life. Believe in God’s promises and trust.
When God promises, God will deliver.
What is Jesus saying to you today?
Make room for God, you will be blessed more than you ask or can imagine. Don't give up, hang on to the hope. God’s promises can change everything. God’s promises are for those who believe.
Remember the Word: “Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not his benefits” and God will bless you.
God watches over His Word.
Submit to God, resist then Devil and he will flee from you.
Sometimes it takes time.
Be persistent, put Gods Word into The situation...remember is ANYTHING too hard for God?
Let God give you the breakthrough He promised today.
